Society for Elimination of Rural Poverty (SERP)
Plant Lipids partnered with the Government of Telangana, through SERP and DRDA Khammam, to strengthen direct market access for chilli farmers. Through the Madhira Women Farmers Producer Company and its network of Farmer Producer Organisations (FPOs), we procure chillies directly from Village Level Procurement Centres, helping farmers secure fair prices and reducing dependence on intermediaries.
As part of this collaboration, Plant Lipids ensures prompt payments to the FPOs, enabling timely transfer of funds to farmers. The partnership also supports a farmer-benefit model in which a portion of the service charges is shared with participating farmers. Together, Plant Lipids, SERP, DRDA Khammam, and the Madhira Women Farmers Producer Company are creating a more transparent, efficient, and sustainable procurement ecosystem for rural communities.
Empowering Chilli Farmers Through Partnership with Be'nishan
Our partnership with Be’nishan has helped strengthen chilli sourcing from remote farming communities, including women-owned farms and women-only FPOs, where many smallholder and women farmers faced limited market access, delayed payments, and price uncertainty. Together, we introduced transparent procurement practices, fair pricing, doorstep collection, and faster payments within 48–72 hours.
Beyond sourcing, we supported farmers through awareness programs, distributed free gunny bags to improve post-harvest handling, and created local employment opportunities within villages. This collaboration has improved livelihoods, strengthened the chilli supply chain, and enabled greater economic participation for rural farming communities, especially women farmers and women-led producer groups.
Strengthening Farmer Support Through BigHaat
As part of the NURTURE 360 Chilli Program, Plant Lipids partnered with BigHaat to create a farm input distribution platform that gives farmers access to cheap, high-quality agricultural inputs along with expert agronomic advice. Through the platform, farmers can purchase certified inputs at competitive prices and receive guidance on their proper and responsible use, helping improve crop quality and farm productivity.
The partnership also supports farmers through digital advisory services, yield monitoring, and crop health management. Using tools such as the Crop Doctor app, farmers can identify crop diseases through mobile images and receive timely recommendations. Combined with Plant Lipids’ assured buy-back and transparent farm-level procurement model, the initiative helps create a more sustainable and resilient chilli farming ecosystem.
Smart Solutions for Chilli Farmers with IFFCO Kisan
Plant Lipids collaborates with IFFCO Kisan, a fully owned subsidiary of IFFCO, to support sustainable chilli cultivation through climate-smart agriculture, precision agriculture, demonstration farms, and good agricultural practices. The partnership focuses on helping farmers adopt responsible farming methods, improve resource efficiency, and strengthen climate resilience through data-driven decision-making and on-ground support.
Through digital advisory tools, traceability solutions, farmer training, development of demo farms, and access to innovative agricultural services, the initiative helps farmers improve productivity while reducing environmental impact. By combining technology with field-level engagement and promoting good agro practices, the partnership contributes to more sustainable chilli production and stronger livelihoods for farming communities.
