As part of its commitment to nurturing young talent, promoting skill development and contributing to youth employability, Plant Lipids is participating in the Prime Minister Internship Scheme (PMIS).
Announced in the Union Budget 2024–25, the PM Internship Scheme is a major national initiative aimed at providing internship opportunities to 1 crore young people in India over five years through the country’s top companies.
The initiative closely aligns with our corporate philosophy of nurturing young talent, enabling skill development and contributing meaningfully to the Government of India’s vision of enhancing youth employability.
Opportunities Across Diverse Functions
Under the internship programme, we plan to offer opportunities across multiple functions and locations, enabling interns to gain practical exposure in manufacturing, quality, engineering, agriculture, research, finance, technology, R&D, sales and administration.
The planned internship opportunities include:
- Plant Operator positions across Kerala and Telangana, for candidates with ITI or Diploma qualifications.
- Quality Control positions across Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana, for candidates with a B.Sc. in Chemistry.
- Engineer Trainee – Mechanical Maintenance positions across Kerala, Karnataka and Telangana, for candidates with B.Tech qualifications in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering.
- Field Assistant / Agronomy Support positions across Kerala, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu, for candidates with a B.Sc. in Agriculture.
- Research / Quality Analyst positions across Kerala and Telangana, for candidates with an M.Sc.
- Accounts / Finance positions in Kerala, for candidates with a B.Com qualification.
- IT Support / Data Management positions in Kerala, for candidates with an MCA.
- R&D position in Kerala, for candidates with a B.Pharm qualification.
- Sales / Administration positions in Kerala, for candidates with a BBA qualification.
- Through these opportunities, interns will have the chance to gain valuable workplace experience, understand industry practices, and develop skills that can support their future careers.
Supporting a Meaningful Internship Experience
The PM Internship Scheme also provides financial and workplace benefits to support interns during their learning journey. These include monthly financial assistance of ₹12,000, subsidised meals, access to recreational facilities such as the gym, and wellness programmes.
Who Can Apply?
The scheme is open to young people aged 18 to 25 years who have completed qualifications ranging from Class 10 and 12 to ITI, Polytechnic Diploma, undergraduate and postgraduate degrees in eligible disciplines. Candidates must not be pursuing full-time education, except those enrolled in online or distance-learning programmes or students in the final year of full-time graduation or post-graduation.
Certain categories of candidates are not eligible, including graduates and postgraduates from specified premier institutions such as IITs, IIMs, National Law Universities, IISERs, NIDs, IIITs and IISc. Candidates holding professional qualifications such as CA, CMA, CS, MBBS, BDS, MD, MS, MBA or equivalent, M.Phil. and PhD are also excluded. Individuals currently undergoing or who have completed certain government skill, apprenticeship or internship programmes are likewise not eligible. In addition, candidates whose family income exceeded ₹12 lakh in the previous financial year are not eligible under the scheme.
