Raw Material Procurement & Strategy

• Procure raw materials that offer the highest value and yield for the ground spice division.
• Maximize net margins by securing materials at the lowest possible cost.
• Develop the supply chain and establish new sources periodically to stay competitive.
• Manage the full ground spice portfolio, ensuring timely procurement of budgeted and indented materials and maintaining an optimal stock level.

Quality & Compliance

• Ensure process and SOP due diligence to minimize quality rejections upon delivery.
• Improve the supply chain with strict quality control.
• Conduct periodic supplier assessments, audits, and evaluations, and document the findings.
• Constantly update terms and specifications to meet regulatory requirements.
• Implement and participate in sustainability and traceability programs for selected spices.
• Build knowledge on certifications, such as IPM (Integrated Pest Management) or organic requirements, and sustainability programs.

Collaboration & Knowledge Building

• Work with the HQ procurement team to leverage procurement synergies.
• Gain a thorough understanding of the growing, harvesting, and supply chain processes for spices like seed spices, chilies, turmeric, and ginger.
• Follow established procurement SOPs and align all workflows with the HQ procurement team.
• Visit growing areas periodically for meetings with farmers and suppliers.

Reporting & Data Management

• Maintain records of all negotiations and purchases.
• Provide timely reporting of data and MIS (Management Information System) to both the PLC management team and HQ.
• Establish systems to collect market intelligence on key spices, competitor information, and emerging trends.

Professional Conduct & Skills

• Maintain high levels of integrity, transparency, and honesty in all work-related dealings.
• Exercise common sense, and apply strong business, financial, and analytical acumen.

Qualification

Any Graduation or Post-Graduation in Agriculture desirable

Span of Experience

Minimum 5+ years of work experience in the Spices industry in procurement Role

  • Intricate Knowledge of packing materials
  • Good business acumen & financial acumen.
  • Analytical bent of mind
  • Sourcing, Vendor Identification and evaluation
  • Cost management and negotiation.
  • Inventory and stock management.
  • Supply chain and logistics coordination.
  • Communication and presentation skills.
  • Knowledge of regulations related to labelling and packaging.
