The QC Head will play a pivotal role within our organization, reporting directly to the Senior General Manager of Operations. This position requires a seasoned professional with extensive experience in Quality Control management, particularly within the Spice/Oleoresin industry. The QC Head will oversee all aspects of Quality Control operations, ensuring adherence to regulatory standards, driving continuous improvement initiatives, and fostering a culture of excellence within the QC team.
Leadership & Supervision
- Lead the QC Team: Supervise QC laboratory personnel, ensuring efficient lab functions and adherence to quality standards.
- Team Management: Oversee daily operations, allocate tasks, and monitor performance to meet production deadlines.
- Mentorship & Training: Provide guidance, training, and development opportunities for QC staff to foster a culture of continuous improvement.
Method Development & Validation
- New Method Validations: Assist in developing and validating new testing methods as required by the organization to enhance analytical capabilities.
- Technical Expertise: Utilize scientific knowledge to innovate and improve QC methodologies, ensuring robustness and reliability of testing procedures.
Turnaround Time & Analysis
- Optimize TAT: Work on reducing the turnaround time (TAT) for QC analyses to ensure timely delivery of quality reports.
- Efficiency Improvements: Implement strategies to streamline QC processes, leveraging automation and best practices to enhance productivity.
Customer Complaints & Quality Improvement
- Complaint Resolution: Address and resolve customer complaints related to QC promptly, ensuring effective root cause analysis and corrective actions.
- Continuous Improvement: Lead quality improvement projects using SPC (Statistical Process Control) and RCA (Root Cause Analysis) methodologies to drive operational excellence and customer satisfaction.
- Quality Initiatives: Implement process improvements and cost-saving measures to optimize product quality and reduce wastage.
Compliance & Audits
- Regulatory Compliance: Monitor validation, stability studies, and quality audits to ensure compliance with FDA, GMP, and other regulatory standards.
- Facility Upgradation: Oversee facility upgrades and equipment validations to meet regulated market requirements and ensure operational readiness.
- Continuous Audits: Organize and participate in regular audits to maintain compliance and uphold high standards of operational excellence.
Supplier Quality Management
- Supplier Collaboration: Work closely with the procurement team to establish and maintain quality requirements for external suppliers, ensuring consistent product quality.
- Quality Assurance Plans: Develop and implement comprehensive QA plans including hazard analyses, critical control points, and preventive measures to mitigate quality risks.
Good Laboratory Practices
- GLP/GMP Implementation: Implement and enforce Good Laboratory Practices (GLP), Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), and 5S methodology to ensure a high standard of laboratory operation and maintenance.
- Compliance Oversight: Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines and internal quality standards across all QC activities, maintaining accurate documentation and records.
Qualification
MSc Chemistry/ PhD in Chemistry
Span of Experience
15 – 18 years of relevant experience in Quality control preferably in Spice/Oleoresin industry from organizations with good pedigree.
Technical Competencies
- Experience in working on Quality control equipment’s and good analytical skills.
- Ability to drive a Continuous Quality Improvement environment and Best-In-Class QC practices
- Knowledge about Good Laboratory Practices / GMP / 5 S
